The latest report from KPMG confirms that the Polish luxury goods market continues to strengthen. By the end of 2024, the sector is expected to reach a record value of PLN 55.6 billion, which represents a 24.6% increase year on year. We discuss why we want to invest in luxury real estate with Inez Otto, Sales and Marketing Director-West at Angel Poland Group.

What is luxury today, when we can afford almost anything?

Inez Otto:

Luxury goods, regardless of the sector we’re talking about, are primarily about uniqueness, and consequently – scarcity. From the largest fashion brands, which entice the wealthiest with limited collections, to the luxury car sector, which is estimated by KPMG to be worth PLN 36 billion in Poland, and of course, the highest caliber – real estate, which, by presenting the highest quality, continues to attract the most demanding and aware clients. In recent years, developers have jumped on the trend of premium and luxury, but unfortunately, the words don’t always align with what the project actually delivers. This shouldn’t happen, but fortunately, seasoned clients investing in the most prestigious properties are well-versed in the market and can identify those with the highest potential, guaranteeing them high returns. In an era when our society is becoming increasingly wealthy and we can afford more and more, we desire what sets us apart from others. If we look at the luxury collection of the Angel Poland brand, we can see that luxury is not just the opportunity to enjoy beautiful spaces within the shared areas of the building. It is a guarantee of the best-invested capital, with the prospect of significant profit. The Krakow Angel Wawel, with the admired Royal Apartment, located next to the Royal Castle, has been considered the most prestigious address in Krakow for ten years. Meanwhile, at Angel Stradom, the sale of one of the apartments broke a record on the secondary market. Its owner earned over PLN 3 million from the transaction. The quality and the figures make clients fully aware of the uniqueness of Angel properties.

In Wrocław, The Upper House by Angel is being built, and right after the announcement of the construction, it was recognized as the most desirable place to live in the capital of Lower Silesia. What is the secret of its success?

Inez Otto: It’s the only such investment in Lower Silesia – a unique project that sets trends in this part of Poland. From the very beginning, when we were still in the conceptual phase, we knew that The Upper House by Angel would be the culmination of our over 20 years of experience in the premium real estate market. Today, as the construction is nearing completion, I can proudly say that we’ve succeeded. The Upper House is the fulfillment of the needs of even the most demanding clients. Its location in the heart of Wrocław, close to the Old Town Market Square, yet surrounded by water and greenery, makes it a unique product. However, as I always emphasize, the location alone doesn’t make this property fit into the narrow luxury segment. The Upper House also offers amenities comparable to the best five-star hotels in the world. Residents will have access to over 1000 sqm of common spaces, which we are creating in collaboration with the renowned, world-famous Spanish architectural studio ADC Atelier. In addition to comfortable apartments and penthouses, the building includes a lobby with 24-hour security, a 25-meter pool with a sauna zone, a spa, a fitness center, a residence lounge, a coworking space with its own library, and a children’s playroom. From the higher floors, there will be a breathtaking view of the Wrocław skyline and the horizon, and residents will also have access to a garden on the roof of the tenth floor. The Upper House is a 17-story residence characterized by the highest attention to detail. It’s luxury that extends beyond the apartment walls, where art and furniture from local craftsmen will also play an important role.

This is another project from the Angel Poland collection, created in collaboration with ADC Atelier. Your five-star hotel, Stradom House Autograph Collection, is gaining recognition worldwide…

Inez Otto: Just like Stradom House, The Upper House by Angel will be perfected down to the smallest detail. Our Kraków hotel, which is part of the luxury brand Autograph Collection, owned by Marriott, was recognized in international rankings as the best luxury hotel in Poland less than a year after opening, and our Group received the title of Developer of the Year at the prestigious EuropaProperty Investment Awards for its implementation. Our clients, when making investment decisions within The Upper House by Angel, can experience our style even before making a purchase by visiting Stradom House. It’s our next calling card, which best illustrates luxury in the Angel Poland brand’s rendition.

Thank you for the conversation.
