In the very heart of Wrocław, on the promenade along the River Oława, a building has been constructed whose character is best expressed in its interiors. The Upper House by Angel is a 17-story residence comprising 378 apartments, including a collection of sky-high penthouses, which blends seamlessly into the urban fabric whilst setting a new standard of living in the city centre. The project is complete, refined and cohesive, and its spaces redefine the urban lifestyle.
Material and proportion
The most important narrative unfolds in the common areas, as these define the character of the building and remain the trademark of Angel Poland Group’s projects. Instead of spectacular design gestures and cold marble, what emerges is a precise approach to materials and proportion. Natural stone, fine timber and soft fabrics create a multi-layered, elegant yet unobtrusive narrative. As a result, the interiors are not one-dimensional, but create depth through their details. This is an aesthetic based on balance, without unnecessary excess.
Light as a background
Light remains a key element, but does not dominate the narrative. The large glazed areas in the co-working zone allow daylight to flood freely into the interior, emphasising the texture of the materials and bringing out their depth. In the evening, the space takes on a different character and, thanks to the precisely designed lighting, a more intimate, atmospheric ambience emerges. The situation is different in the penthouses, situated on the top floors, where the role of light naturally becomes more prominent. The panoramic view of Wrocław and the openness towards the horizon enhance the sense of space and privacy.
Collaboration at its finest
The architects at Angel Poland Group are responsible for the design of the communal areas, who invited the Spanish studio ADC Atelier to collaborate on the project. This partnership is no coincidence, as both studios have already enjoyed joint success with the interior design of Stradom House Autograph Collection – a five-star hotel in Kraków that has won numerous awards for its unique character. At The Upper House, this international synergy results in spaces refined down to the smallest detail: from the layout and choice of materials to bespoke furnishings.
Common areas instead of a spectacle
One of the project’s most distinctive features is access to spaces reserved exclusively for residents. These include, amongst others, a 25-metre swimming pool (the only one of its kind in a residential block in Wrocław), an extensive wellness area with saunas, a modern fitness centre, as well as the coworking space mentioned earlier, which is designed to cater to contemporary working styles. Younger residents can enjoy a dedicated kids’ club, designed with equal attention to aesthetics and functionality. Everyday comfort is further enhanced by concierge services, an elegant residence lounge and a stately reception area with 24-hour security – features that serve as the building’s finest showcase, yet without excessive formality. Each of these elements goes beyond the commonly recognised standard of residential living – it is closer to life in a luxury hotel than in a traditional apartment block.
The new definition of an urban lifestyle
The Upper House by Angel is more than just a place to live. It is a space where everything residents need is available within the building itself, and where architecture, design and functionality come together to form a cohesive whole. It is a unique development that sets a new standard for urban lifestyle. Because The Upper House is not just an address. It is an experience.
